Dell Inspiron N5110 touchpad not working properly?

Hello,

I recently acquired an Inspiron N5110 for Christmas. It mostly works properly, until I start playing a few games. As an avid gamer, I rely on using both my keyboard and mousepad at the same time. 

Now, my problem is: whenever I press a key on the keyboard, the mouse freezes up and is not responsive. It becomes responsive a few seconds after I stop holding the key down.

I have tried updating my drivers; but it is the latest version, R305170. I am not sure what else I can do, and I would appreciate any and all answers given!
