Dell Precision M3800 strange static noise when SSD is accessed

Hi everyone,

I have a new M3800 Precision Workstation that is making a really annoying sound when it is plugged into power and when the SSD is being accessed, mostly when it is being accessed randomly such as search, VM running, or just random file access test from benchmarking software. The pitch of the scratchy sound varies with screen brightness.

I've made a video of it here [View:youtu.be/jbEkRDrPTdA:550:0]

Can anyone help me figure out what this is? Coil whine?

The laptop support guys at my company took it apart and cleaned - although there wasn't any dirt - but didn't see anything untoward

Follow up for anyone who may be searching for this in the future.

Dell Support reviewed the video and agreed that something was strange. The technician came out and replaced motherboard, DC in cable (connecting outside to motherboard) and speakers.

The issue went away.

I think it was the DC cable/motherboard interactions, and not speakers since they are far away from the area where the noise was coming from.

Either way, machine is quiet now. (well, at least for now)
