Dell V131 cpu upgrade

Hi,

I have a Dell V131 notebook with a Celeron 847 processor and would like to upgrade to a better processor like i5-2410M.

Is there a way I can do that?

Sorry, I have been trying to find some information on google, but wasn't lucky enough. :emotion-1:

I already have the processor, hope I don't have to re-sell it and buy a whole motherboard that has a specific processor soldered in, etc.

Thanks

The CPU in this model is soldered to the mainboard, so an upgrade means you must change the mainboard and processor as a unit.  The system was shipped with the i5-2410m

You cannot install a separate, socketed CPU in this model - all the boards have soldered-in CPUs.

Ok, so I'm safe ordering this motherboard with i5 CPU and replacing the current one I have?

Should be, yes.  If you have a 4-cell battery you may want to upgrade to a 6-cell -- the runtime of  a 4-cell won't be great with an i5 CPU.

Yep. I have a 6-cell battery, should be ok then.

Many thanks! :emotion-15:
