I have not experienced the lighting situation some folks are complaining about but, there is a setting in the power options to disable Adaptive Brightness. Also on the Dell download page a firmware update for enabling/disabling Dynamic Backlight Control..
Have you tried either of those or both?

Are you saying you could not find the Firmware update in the first section of downloads?
Which screen do you have FHD or QHD+?

It's under Power Options > Advanced Options > Display
EDIT: For some reason the earlier replies didn't load when I first clicked into this thread, so I didn't see that this was already suggested. Sorry! Anything promising in the Intel Graphics Settings application?

I had the exact same issue with the Dell XPS 13 9365 that I received today. Installing the firmware update utility referenced in LSUFAN51's post on 17 Jul 2017 20:10 fixed the issue.
To find that firmware, I had to click on the "Find it Myself" tab then sort by date. It was posted 20 Feb 2017.
Once it is downloaded and extracted (by default it goes to C:\Dell\Drivers\59XRT), you have to close all apps, plug into power then run the PanelFW_DBC app. This gives you the option to Turn Off the Dynamic Backlight Control on the display.
After a reboot, my problem was fixed.

I did everything same as cacraze. Except mine kept saying WRITE FAIL upon running the firmware update. Problem still exists for me. Any thoughts?
