Dell XPS 14 fan noise
I just got my xps 14 laptop in the mail, and turned it on only to hear the fan come whirring on. It's terribly loud and noticeable. Could there be something wrong with the laptop?
Thanks,
Cara

Hi CWoodworth
Please update the BIOS using the link below.

Connect the Ac Adapter before updating the BIOS and do not use the system until it restarts after the update

Reading the instructions for installing the update, I saw that this update is for installation on Windows XP, Windows 2000, NT, Windows 9X, Windows ME or a MS DOS environment. I have Windows 7. Will it still work?

After seeing that it was intended for the XPS 14 system, I went ahead and and tried to update the BIOS using the download provided by the link. However, when I tried to run the program (the update) it abruptly stopped working after asking me to click continue to proceed and cancel to end the program (I had clicked continue of course).

Hi CWoodworth,
BIOS is compatible with this system and its not operating system specific. Please update the BIOS using the link below and check if the issue persists.
http://dell.to/13EVLww
In this link punch in the system service tag or express service code and select the appropriate operating system, under the BIOS category select the latest BIOS and install it.
Connect the Ac Adapter before updating the BIOS and do not use the system until it restarts after the update.
Please let me know if this helps.
