Dell inspiron 7000 screen issue

Hello all,

I have an issue with my laptop. As you can see in the picture below there seems to be a broken spot within the screen. The glass plate on top of the screen itself has no scratchmarks whatsoever and the back plate of the screen is as new as well. The mark persist when the screen is turned off. So i think that the pixels are burnt in or broken.

 I was wondering what is wrong with the screen and whether it falls withing warranty or not.
