Dell studio xps 1340 flash utility error- Cant update to A07

Hiyas

I was working on my xps studio 13 and went away from my desk for a few hours.  When I got back the screen was black and unresponsive.  I did a hard reboot and bam, BSOD.  Every time I tried to restart normally, or using the last good configuration same thing, BSOD. About a week prior to this I've also been having lock up problems, but so far just once when my computer has been hooked up to an external monitor via hdmi.

Got it running in safe mode and went to the Dell download site and noticed there was a new version of BIOS, but when I try to install it I get this error:

Dell studio xps 1340 flash utility cannot continue because 1. No Battery!

Does anyone have any knowledge of this error?  Any help would be appreciated, this is very frustrating!

Try posting your question on the Laptop General Hardware Board for a better chance at getting an answer specific to your situation. You might get an answer on this board (this is the Laptop Audio Board) but more eyes will see your post on the other board.
