Dell xps

Hi my laptop was running slow it 6 mth old with 8 gb ram and 500gb hard disk. I did a clean installation my boot up take 10 min and to load to window and my window take 5 min to load without any installation of program. Could you advice what is wrong.

Start with the Dell diagnostics - F12 at powerup. In particular, run an extended test on the hard drive.

Your hard drive is faulty - that is why the system runs slow.  You'll need a new 2.5" 9.5 mm SATA notebook drive -- once you replace the drive, then reinstall and everything should be fine.

I receive a error code 2000-0142

Call with the error message - they will send a replacement drive (most systems) or arrange replacement if the drive isn't customer-replaceable (such as many of the Inspiron N series, which require a removal of the system board to replace the drive).
