HDMI and LCD TV

I have a Dell Studio 1555. I want to connect it via HDMI to an LCD TV Samsung.

If there is no display adapter driver installed and I use 1024x768 resolution for my laptop, the connection to LCD TV is realized, but without sound. Sound is still on the laptop.

If I install the ATI RADEON HD4570 driver, on my LCD TV I get one of this 2 messages: "No signal" or "Unavailable mode". The TV should work at 1080p or 720p if I'm not wrong.

Can anybody help me?

from my experience with the similar studio 1537 model once you have the picture showing it's simple to get the sound working.  Just right click the speaker icon in the lower right.  Choose 'playback devices' and select the hdmi option so that it outputs the sound to the hdmi instead of the laptop speakers.

Had that issue with my 1555, had to manually set the resolution to one my TV recognized, the driver wouldn't do it automatically.

Even then, I never got the sound working over HDMI, after a couple of hours of remote-control tinkering, Dell tech support said they'll send me a new one that works.
