I'm having a problem with partions.
okay quick question how do i delete any pations i might have like for example the dell utilties/media direct stuff.will i have to do a clean install of windows?

okay, so maybe that was a stupid question because windows 7 upgrade will have to do clean install on my comp anyhow.

The answer depends on what you want to do with the system. While you can delete these, you will at minimum need to rewrite the master boot record so WIndows will load (you'll need your WIndows CD or DVD).
