Inspiron E1705 with NVIDIA GeForce Go 7900 GS; DVD playback stutters badly after codec re-installation
I finally caved and downloaded the WMP update and afterward I was unable to play DVD's because my codec didn't work with the new version of media player. So I fixed all that and now have v10 of WMP, a brand new codec, and DVD playback. I'm frustrated because this wasn't an issue whatsoever before I had the problems with the codec and I am confused as to what could have caused the sudden stuttering in the playback. Nothing else has changed on my system. Any ideas would be appreciated, thanks.

I seem to have developed stuttering problems with my Inspiron 1545 DVD playback. It also started happening out of the blue after I burned a couple of DVD's one night.
My problem seems to occur every minute and a half during playback when the sound and video stutters for a few seconds and then resumes normal play until it happens again another minute and a half later.
Would like an explanation myself, good to know you got it working.
