Inspiron N7010 video card detected as Standard VGA
Inspiron N7010 laptop, Win7 Home Pre64, new install after 2nd factory HDD died without warning. Can't find a better driver or any good details on what video card is inside. Video properties shows Intel Ironlake mobile chipset, 8 bit DAC, etc.
The display resolution only goes up to 1024 x 768 and can't use screensavers due to the following message "The screensaver cannot run because it requires a newer video card or one that's compatible with Direct3D.
Any suggestions on how to get this video right? It is a 17" LCD and I think it should have higher resolution than 1024.

Solved. After looking on Dell and NOT finding any video driver I forced myself to slog through www.Intel.com to find the correct driver. The detect - o - rama tool found the correct driver - Win7Vista_64_152257.exe. Happy days are here again!
