Is it worth it to get this fixed?
i have an almost two-year old Dell Inspiron 1520, and sometime a few months ago a piece of plastic on the left hinge snapped off, making the laptop unable to close. I removed the excess plastic so I could close the computer. Yesterday the right side finally snapped off, and now the laptop is essentially in two pieces, connected only by a wire. I am unable to remove any excess plastic so the computer is once again unable to shut. The hinge cover is also very loose. I need a portable computer, and I could make this laptop a stationary computer and get a new laptop, but if I could I'd like to keep this one. Would anyone know how much a fix like this would cost? Or is it not worth it to send it in and then I should just buy a new laptop?

It sounds like you just need an lcd cover. You can get one for about $40 (US), and it is not too difficult to swap out.
