Latitude 5440 Battery Issue

I have a very weird battery issue with my 5440. I just had the motherboard replaced so I hope I don't have to get it replaced again. The laptop will now power on with any battery. It will only work when it is plugged into the power adapter. The laptop can still see the battery. When the battery is in it says it's 100% charged, but when I unplug it it powers down instantly. With the battery removed it says there is no battery there. I'm not sure what to do besides replace the motherboard again. I would really like to avoid that if I could. Has anybody seen this issue before?
