Latitude E7450 Unstable Win8.1 Fingerprint Reader Driver

I'm having issues with the Latitude E7450 fingerprint reader driver on Windows 8.1. The Windows Biometric service will frequently crash on suspend/resume and other random times. This is with a fresh Windows 8.1 Enterprise installation with the Dell SCCM driver CAB file, with the ControlVault security package manually installed from the Dell support site. Any workarounds or recommendations?

I've seen some similar issues with Lenovos on Win8.1 that were resolved with a driver update.
