M1330 Round peg.... Octagonal hole...
Hello there folks. Please dont flame me if I ahve missed soemthing obv.
I have trawled around looking for the answer to this and have found nothing that answers my question.
I am a very happy owner of an XPS M1330... however the other day my charger stopped working "it is no longer being recognised"... and whilst it powers my laptop, it refuses to charge the battery.
Dell have agreed to send me a new charger, but on close inspection of the picture my dad sent me (i live in Spain and they refuse to deliver here so i have had to relay it by him)... it appears to have a round jack (the bit that goes into the laptop).
On my current charger a 65V A00 i have an octagonal jack.... so my question is simple....
Will my replacement "round/barrel" jack work on my laptop (with its octagonal hole) or have Dell sent me the wrong part????
Please help as I have spent the best part of 2 hours on the phone to them and onyl have 3% battery remaining!
Kind regards
Maddy.

I just ordered a new AC-adapter from Dell and got it today. The new one has a round plug instead of the octagon I had before. It seems to be working fine. I had called in to order to make sure I got the right replacement since the online ordering wasn't very clear. The gal I talked to insisted that she was sending me the right adapter because she had my service tag #. Do they not like the octagon plugs? Or did they send me the wrong adapter?
