M17X webcam not working

hi

im trying to get my dell webcam central working, when i start the program it says 'please plug in supported device'.

iv checked Device Manager under Imaging Devices and no webcam is listed.

Iv downloaded webcam central again but it hasnt worked, iv gone onto dell website to try and find the driver but i cant find it.

any help would be appreciated please

Hi bravo9992,

Please follow the steps below to run the test on Webcam on the system.

1.       Open the link http://dell.to/14YjKb2

2.       Select ‘Hardware’ under ‘Choose a Diagnostic Type’.

3.       Select ‘Camera’.

4.       Click on ‘Run Diagnostics’ button.

5.       Let me know if the results.

Sorry about the delay i had to watch some little old boxing match lol

it says 'A diagnostic category was specified and the applicable device does not exist.'

Hi bravo9992,

The error indicates that the webcam has malfunctioned. You will have to replace it. Please click on the link below to check the warranty of the system. If the system is out of warranty then you will need to contact our out of warranty department for repairs at 1-800-288-4410 (US only). Please let me know if you are from different region.
