M6500 LCD cover latch spring
The return spring for the LCD cover latch on my m6500 has come out of place. I found it next to the primary HHD. It appears to work in a torsion configuration, but I don't see how exactly to install it. Nothing seems to be broken in the latch mechanism itself, but without the spring, of course it does not function properly (hold the lid closed). Any idea how to install this spring? Thanks.

Wow, a shame to see no response.
I had this problem too. Turns out that the entire push-in assembly was bust (spring leg snapped).
This assembly should consist of the button with the two securing hooks, and on one side a bit to hold it in while the other side and two bits that stick out. The spring goes around the lower of the two bits that sticks out (furthest away from the securing hook).
For me I had to purchase a new assembly - here is a site with an image for you to compare yours and also to buy if yours is broken.
