Microphone Line-in issue
Hi,
Dell vostro 1710
OS - Vista Business
sound card realtek - ALC268 driver - 6.0.1.5832
I plug external microphone , but I can't get the sound through speakers. I googled this and somebody says change the windows registry, but I don't have such registry settings and I don't have any microphone monitor in speakers' level tab. Could somebody help me, because I bought a new usb radio tuner and I can't use it.

Ivan, all of the Dell laptops are configured with the ability to monitor the mic jack disabled by Dell. On most of the models with Sigmatel chips we have figured out how to re-enable monitoring. Those instructions are in this thread. But so far no one has found a solution that applies to the Realtek chips.
