My Dell Lattitude C840 is displaying error
I'm getting following error " \system32\hal.dll is corrupt or missing. Reinstall. I did not receive any restoration cds when I bought this computer (3yrs ago)off a lease. Is there any way I can fix this without disk. Does anyone have another solution??? Or how I can get the restore disk?

Particularly given the age of the system, the likely cause is a failing hard drive - you'll need a new 2.5"9.5 mm EIDE (NOT SATA) drive, 120G or smaller and you'll need to purchase a copy of Windows if you don't have one.
