No longer see on screen audio "bars"

Greetings,

I have a new Inspiron 15 (5548, Early 2015) laptop. It came with windows 7 pro.

I made the mistake of "upgrading" to windows 8.1,hated it, and reinstalled windows 7. Now, I no longer get the onscreen graphical sound bars when adjusting the volume. The F keys work fine, I can adjust the audio level, but no on screen bars.  I've been through three chat sessions and I still can't get this resolved.

Anyone else have this issue?

Thanks

Hi Delluser1158,

The Dell quickset application needs to be installed for the Quick Launch Buttons or hot keys to work. Please enter your service tag # on the link below, select the OS, then download the Dell Quickset application from Application section onto the system and install it.

I already installed the quickset file. The Hotkeys (volume controls via the F keys) work fine. I just don't see the on screen audio bars.

Hi Delluser1158,

I would suggest you to update the BIOS, Audio and quickset driver in sequence on the system. Please enter your service tag # on the link below, select the OS, then download the BIOS from BIOS section, audio driver from audio section and Dell Quickset application from Application section onto the system and install it.
