May be U uncover conspiracy of AMD =)) and probably r9 m270x is rebranded 8870m =))))

I guess it ‘cause 14.4 developed mostly for new AMD video card R9 series.

By the way how it works with Games and other applications? Sleep? Hibernate ?

Unfortunately, sleep and hibernation do not work with these drivers.

Are there any problems with windows on 14.4? Any blue screens or something else? Did you run some games to see how the drivers are working?

Works well as a 13.2. Just rename it and the device manager and drivers. Sleep and hibernate do not work.

Ok thanks. I just install them and i must say the 14.4 are working great. I didnt even uninstall the 13.2

Just update. Overall perfomance is higher as i can see, also i did test Tomb Raider 2013 and i have smoother gameplay at full details.

(Dell 17r 5737 , i7 with 8870m).

I had 13.2 drivers from AMD and i install the 14.4 also from AMD (over 13.2)

I dont use the sleep or hibernate mode because these function dont work with any driver i have try!

But today, after the prompt of you,  i try to enable the sleep mode and test it. And it worked...

Then i try to enable the hibernate mode and test that too.

I restart the laptop and none of them working now...

I disable the hibernate mode again and then try once more the sleep mode. Didn't work again.

I dont know whats happening.

After i see that the sleep mode is working i was very happy but it didn't last long...

(I'm using Windows 8.1 pro with all the updates installed and all the latest drivers for all of the devices).

The sleep is working again.

Here is what i did:

From the device manager, i disable the devices with the < >,  from wake the computer  and i did that at the network devices that have power options (under power management uncheck an option that says "allow this device to wake the computerI).

Then i did what in that link says:

http://www.thewindowsclub.com/sleep-mode-not-working-windows-8-1

Now the sleep is working (with the same configuration i have in the previews message).

I didnt test hibernate... I'm happy with this right now :-)

I really do hope that Dell updates their drivers to the latest 14.4 drivers because the performance provided by the CURRENT drivers is just subpar (my 3 year old laptop that costed a bit less at the time, than my 2 month new laptop, provides similar performance).

like pretty much everyone in this thread I have faced the same problems of sleep/wake problems after driver updates. I have an Intel 4400 with the AMD HD 8850M.

one really should not be expected to spend hours hunting down a solution that is not from Dell or from AMD officially, not after shelling out more than $1000!

Dell has produced a machine that is extremely compelling spec to price wise, and it works pretty well, but driver support, so far, for this unit, has not been great, which is very unfortunate given my family has been buying dell products for YEARS now.

It did put me off this machine.  I saw the machine on offer with a lower resolution screen and offered them £50 more for an upgrade to a 1080p screen but was told the offers can't be negotiated.

Yes, I agree, it is a real problem.  I had massive problems with a previous Dell which was blue screening from the beginning.  I had them out to it three times and they fitted different parts and in the end it was a driver issue, which I would never have believed.  It shows that it does cost them money.  How hard would it be to make the drivers update from the component manufacturer's site or allow buyers to upgrade all the drivers themselves?  Now, mercifully, I can download the latest AMD driver for that machine so problem is solved.
