Replaced hard drive; now what?

Please help !!!

My hard drive was fried, so Dell UK sent a new one to fit, which I've done.

I've put in the 'Operating System' disc in and ran through all that.

Now the computer looks really basic and there's hardly any programs.

What do i do next?

Help much appreciated

Chris

Your computer should have come with a few disks when you purchased it. One would be the operating system (which appears is what you have installed), the others would have the software that was pre-installed with the system. If you have the installation disks go ahead and run them to install the default programs.

I'm sorry to hear that. Have you thought of calling the customer support number to ask for assistance? They should provide you with what you need to have your OS looking as it did before the change. At least, I would hope that they will.

What you now need are the drivers for the hardware that is on your computer. If you click on Support at the top of the page and then enter your Service tag you can access the drivers that are designed for your computer. No one can help without you listing the model of your computer.
