Look for the "Dell backup and recovery" utility on the hard drive.  You should use it to make a set of recovery media (though you CAN use it to do the restore without the media, that won't work if the hard drive ever fails).

This is a great option but assuming that I have not yet created a recovery media and for some reason I cannot boot in Windows 8.1.

Is there a shortcut key to access the recovery tools during boot (showing the Dell logo)?

Thanks!

No there isn't - you will need to contact Dell to have a set of recovery media sent.  There is no charge under warranty.

If all is lost there is also the option of clean installation using a Windows 8.1 with Update 1 "Edition" .iso:

Ensure the "Edition" you download matches the factory installed "Edition". The correct "Edition" will input your UEFI BIOS SLP key automatically and take you to the license agreement screen. The incorrect "Edition" will prompt for a product key.
