Upgrade SSDR in XPS 12, Win 8.1

HI,  I want to put a 500 gig ot 1 TB ssdr in my XPS 12, Win 8.1

It is out of warranty, so it's all on me.

What are the specs I need to get a good drive that works with this Dell?

Hi Jim,

mSATA drive can be configured as a caching device with a normal mechanical drive combination on the system to make the system faster. Intel smart response technology is used for it. If you are using the mSATA drive as a boot drive you will not need the Intel smart response technology.

Hi Jim,

Dell XPS 12 (9Q33) is shipped with mSATA drives with capacity of 128 GB or 256 GB and Dell has tested maximum of 512GB mSATA drive on it.

THX Ravi. BC Now, the existing drive specs say something about Intel Smart (something)  IS this a spec on the HW drive that I need to have?
