Video Flicker's in Inspiron 2200

So I just got my Inspiron 2200, and as its going through
the start up's of loading apps and what not, the screen
flicker's for a second.
Q1 why does this happened?
Q2 how do I resolve this.

Does it flash once or does it really flicker?

The screen blinks, / turns off for 1 second.. and thats the end of it.. nothing more. It only happenes, when I turn on
the laptop

I wouldn't think so,.. I have other desktop's with much lower end video card's all running XP and I dont have that issue with any of them, except for the laptop.

Sounds like it's expected since it has to check to see if  you need to update the resolutions with the attached devices.

Laptops have more of a concern with people putting CRTs to them and driving them at seperate resolutions. 
 
I've seen this on my system when I boot up and/or change attached CRTs. 
 
It's a good thing for me.. .
