Vostro 1500 burned - any chane to fix this?
Hi,
My Vostro 1500 just got burned. My friend used it on a blanket.. all of a sudden - a smoke start to come out from the computer, and it went off.
I waited a few minutes, and tried to turn it on - nothing happend.
I noticed that when I connect the power cable - there's no more lights goes on, like it used to do before (the power light indicator)
I opened the laptop up to pieces, and tried to locate the problem source. I removed the processor unit, put some thermal grease on the heatsink, which didn't help to my problem.
I noticed some 'bumped' electrical bug, and thought - maybe this is the source of the problem. (pictures attached)
Any chance to know for sure? And if it IS the problem - how can I replace it? it says "PQ3" beside it..
Pictures of the bug:

Unless you have the tools to do the job, it's for a pro - and it'll cost less to replace the board.
If you have a separate video card, it's this board

If you have integrated video, it's this one

(the Vostro 1500 and Inspiron 1520 are identical except for the case color).

Thank you!!
That's the kind of answers I was looking for...
The only thing left to find out, is if I have a separate video card, or not..
How can I know it for sure?
