Vostro high cpu usage during video playback

Hi

when playing back ripped bluray as mt2s file in vlc and kmplayer (I don't have a blu-ray drive on this pc) I've noticed that the cpu usuage seems exceptionally high - up to 2.80 ghz  continuously in some cases. Should this be happening? Playing back compressed mkv files cpu usage is around 2.3ghz.

Can anyone advise me if this is what should be happening? (specs below)
