Will memory modules from XPS M1710 work in Inspiron 8500?
I received a memory upgrade for my XPS M1710. I would like to take the old 2 x 512 MB memory modules from my XPS 1710 and put them in my old Inspiron 8500 (which currently has 2 x 256 MB). Will the memory modules be compatible?

No. the 8500 uses DDR. The 1710 uses DDR-2. They're completely incompatible.
