XPS 13 (N01X1303) battery settings

Hi all,

New to vista and new to my Dell XPS 13 (N01X1303).

How can I setup the battery performance so that when the machine is plugged in and charging the "performance" option is automatically chosen and when the machine is running on battery power the power saver plan is automatically selected.  At the moment I have to manually switch between the two each time I plug in or unplug the machine which seems silly.  Am I missing something obvious?

It can't be done, at least not the way you described it.  The power profile doesn't change, but rather in the configuration of a single profile, you can customize different performance options for being on battery or being plugged in.  For example, edit the "Balanced" power profile, if you can find the advanced button, you will get the options of how you wan't the CPU, Display and GPU to use power for Plugged and unplugged status under a single power profile.
