XPS M1530 WHITE SCREAM INTEAD OF LCD SWITCHING OFF WHEN LID CLOSED/BRIGHTNESS PROBLEM

Ive recently had my laptop repaired after it got wet and the replaced the screen and everything,

but since i have had it back the FN and brightness buttons do not work, nor does the brightness controls work via BIOS settings,  also when the laptop goes into sleep mode or the lid is closed, the screen stays on bright white instead of going off.

can anyone help me resolve this issue

kind regards

Hi LSTAR86,

I recommend you flash BIOS and install the quickset driver from the links given below:

BIOS: http://dell.to/TiYLVY

Quick set: http://dell.to/SQE1az

While flashing BIOS connect the Ac adapter and make sure the battery has minimum 15% charge as this needs uninterrupted power supply. Do not use the system till it restarts and comes up to the desktop. After installed the quickset, please check and revert for further assistance.

This tells me it will not open because it is running on an unsupported system,  remember my system is the XPS M1530  NOT THE 1330.

What parts were replaced, and who did the repair?

If the brightness control doesn't work in BIOS setup, they installed an incompatible LCD display panel.

The keyboard brightness controls require the Dell Quicket software to be installed - but before that go back and instlal the chipset driver and Dell notebook system software (all three are available for download - support.dell.com).
