XPS15 Keyboard Not Working

The laptop keyboard stops working after I log on. It works for initial login then stops for everything after the start page icons come up.

The screen-touch keyboard works (what I am using now) but the hard keyboard does not.

This happened a year or so ago and I called Dell support back then, but I can't remember what the solution was.  However, when I called Dell this time a couple weeks ago the level 2 tech could not fix it. Two separate 4 hour sessions and he gave up.  He thought it might be some corruption in my user profile, and told me he would research and call me back - but it's been three weeks and he has not called. So, I thought maybe someone else might know what to do about this.

For what it is worth, I tried the solution posted on 30 December 2015 for the similar dead keyboard problem for Inspirons: Turn off the keyboard filter.

It worked. This XPS 15 keyboard now functions correctly after I log in.

thnx

Anyone?

Will the solution for this problem posted for Inspirons work for XPS 15s?
