blurry icons
I was messing around with startup items and I think I removed something important, because now all my icons on the desktop are blurry. The laptop is a dell inspiron 6000. Example of my problem can be found here: http://home.comcast.net/~psypark/untitled.bmp
Does anyone know how I can fix this, rather than doing system restore?

Try setting the " Cleartype " option to on. And make sure you have the LCD set to its native resolution.

Cleartype is on, resolution is correct. Still blurry icons. Please help!

It looks like your icons are being scaled slightly.
Right-Click on your desktop top, View > Classic Icons.
Does that help?
You could also hold Ctrl down and roll your mouse wheel.
These solutions assume you're running Vista.
