cannot correct laptop time

I have a Dell Studio 1558 laptop which beeps and request me to press F1 to continue. The message tells me to check the time and date. I have changed the CMOS battery and set the time manually then selected auto time set. U an running Widows 10 OS. In spite of this the time is never right and I have to use F1 to boot up. Any ideas what I can try.

Thanks

Hi MAT.X,

What is the exact # of beeps? This will help isolate the source of the issue. Check this article - http://dell.to/1IuETMX

Disconnect the adapter and battery, remove the CMOS battery from the system and press and hold the power button for 30 seconds to release any static power, power on the machine without the CMOS battery - it should detect the missing CMOS battery. Once done, power off the machine and reseat the CMOS battery and try powering on with adapter only / battery only and check.

Force a BIOS flash - http://dell.to/2bKZd3J - http://dell.to/2hnhjs4

If nothing works, then I would suspect a motherboard issue.

If the motherboard is being replaced, I would personally suggest you to invest your money on a new machine than to repair this system. However, that is your discretion.

Also, please click my DELL-username and write me a private conversation with the service tag and your Name for case records.
