how can i get 1/2mc slot to recognize mSATA mini?

I tried to set a stand alone hard drive for boot drive in the 1/2MC slot in my M4700. However it doesn't recognized the mSATA mini card.

Can i use the 1/2MC slot for mSATA mini? if so, how?

please help
