Uninstall all the video drivers (if it's Intel only, there will just be one set;  if it's a hybrid video setup, there will also be an nVidia or AMD driver).

If this is Windows 10, reboot the system and make sure you're online.  Windows should pick up and install the video drivers for your system, at least the Intel one.  If not, the correct driver for Windows 10-64 bit is this one:

Hi RON-19154,

What is the exact OS version installed on the system? Is this Win 10 Anniversary edition?

Update the BIOS - http://dell.to/2bvw8KA - restart the system and reinstall the video drivers and check.

If the issue is not resolved and if the OS version is 1607, then restore the OS to the earlier version and check - see the links for help - http://bit.ly/2buaW5w | http://bit.ly/2aCOi8C

I am having a similar issue with my Dell 7548, connected via HDMI to a Dell S2415H monitor after upgrading to the Windows 10 anniversary edition.  Not consistently, but frequently enough.  I login, and the process appears to be going well, but then I get booted back to the login screen again.  When login for the 2nd time, I'll get an error code 43 with "failed to start" I didn't get the process unfortunately.  The 2nd login generally works, but then only the laptop monitor -or- the external S2415H will display.  When I go to Device Manager, Display Adapters; the Intel HD Graphics 5500 device has an exclamation point, when you check the device status, it reports that Windows stopped the device because it errored, failed to start, something like that.  If I disable, then re-enable the device, that generally gets both the laptop and the external monitors working together.  Not always.  I've never had a problem before the Win10 Anniversary Update.  I've uninstalled the Intel HD5500 driver (but did not remove), then power cycled the laptop, but this issue persists.  The graphics driver version is dated 5/25/20, version16, 20.19.15.4463.  Is there a driver update in the works?  Other suggestions?  Thanks.

I installed the free Windows 10 when it was available last year from Windows 8.1.  Had no trouble iwith mr Dell 7548 until the anniversary update was installed.  Tried everything possible to correct getting error 43 and nothing worked.  I downloaded the free Windows iOS update tool to a USB thumb drive and reinstalled Windows  and formatted my drive and installed a clean install of Windows, this corrected the problem, probably to previous version of Windows registry being corrupted, then download the graphics driver from Dell website getting the updated graphic driver

Hi KWAGAR6429,

Try installing the drivers from the Intel site - http://intel.ly/2dxepm6

If this does not work, then downgrade the OS to the previous version - http://bit.ly/2buaW5w

If you rather choose to retain Win 10 Anniversary Edition, then I suppose we need to wait until the next batch of windows updates to be released by MS.
