purchasing dell warranty
In the near-future, I may purchase a previously-owned Dell XPS 15 L502X. Can a Dell warranty for a used Dell notebook PC be purchased if it's no longer covered by a Dell warranty?

Not as the second owner, no -- and even if you could, it'll cost about what one major repair would (or more). Put whatever you'd spend on a warranty aside for any future needed repairs.
