reasons why the XPS is being delayed
one- reason is that everyone is buying them
two- the six cell battery
three- the 2.5 processor has run out.
can anyone confirm that two and three are right because i bought an xps on may 26th and the expected ship date is july 16th.

not sure about the third one, but I bought mine JUne 10th/08, and It was shipped yesterday, adn I shall recieve it tomorrow or friday.
DeLL has there thumb up there behind as usual.
PS: It took me 9 phone calls, and 4 online chats to get them to send it asap.

Don't really know why the delays , except for the fact that dell has been promoting this line heavily.
Order my system 6-10-08 and was to ship today , but got a e-mail saying it is delayed till 7-01-08
My system is to have 2.4 processor and 9 cell battery.
maybe because of my choice of display, 256 ram video card, and Tv tuner card

I ordered a XPS M1730 with a 2.5 processor. one week later I received this nice "beast"
I would add a fourth point. they run out of LCD display ! In the enterprise I work for we all use DELL.
most of the time the delivery delay of new hardware (Laptop or Displays) based on this reason.
so running out of LCD, might be a good point.

Iv'e got the GeForce GO 8700M GT SLI ... well its fast. enough for me. you can go faster anyway, depending on the money you spend. i've got 8754 3DMarks with the performance driver and no oc
