Connecting Inspiron 1501 to Toshiba lcd tv
Hi, anyone know the best, easiest (cheapest!) way to do this please? I've spent the guts os £60 on various cables and adapters but nothing works. Tried hdmi, dvi, s-video, composite etc. I would like to be able to view my desktop, video files etc on my tv. Thanks in advance.

Use Svideo out on the computer and switch displays by toggling FN +F8. You should know that using a tv as a monitor is not a good thing. Picture quality can be poor with low resolution, although I have not tried an LCD TV. Function key + F8 toggles display output. Dell Quick Set utility that runs in the lower right allows you to change the necessary settings. Right click on the Quick Set icon and explore the settings and Help. Your manual has directions and Hot Keys for switching to TV Here.
