Laptop won't turn on using ac adapter
I have 3-year-old dell 5520 with a dead battery. I use it with the ac adapter. Recently it doesn't turn on when i press the power button...the power button lights up and the power led is on, but the laptop doesn't boot at all.
A week or so ago, i had the same problem a couple of times, but after persistent pressing and removing and reinserting the ac adapter cable, it turned on. But now nothing happens. Any help is welcome.

When the AC adapter is not yet plugged into the laptop, is the tip LED on?
Do you still the dead battery in the laptop? If so, remove it.
