XPS 13 9343 - Fails to install latest Chipset [Chipset_Driver_KFR45_WN32_11.0.0.1153_A00.EXE]

Hi,

i tried to install the latest Chipset (Chipset_Driver_KFR45_WN32_11.0.0.1153_A00.EXE) for my XPS 13 9343 and it fails. Other updates fail as well. The install log is below.

Does somebody has a hint for me ?

I had the same problem with my XPS 13 (9343).

I got rid of it by selecting Device Manager/System devices, then selecting "Intel(R) Management Engine Interface" then right-click and select "update driver software" then "search automatically ....".   Somewhat to my surprise, it found an update and installed it. The driver version is now 11.0.0.1157    After doing that the Dell Support Assist says the system is up to date with no drivers to install.  Note, that I'm only telling you what I did to get around this problem, I'm not telling you to do the same, as I don't know if there are any bad consequences to what I did, but I don't think it would have installed the update if it wasn't compatible.

Hello,

Are you trying to install a chipset driver from a 3rd party site?   

I'm looking at the support pages for the XPS 13 9343 and the current chipset driver we have up is Version 10.1.1.7, A00.  That is the latest version for Windows 10 that we have available.  I don't know that any other versions are compatible with the XPS 13 9343 as they haven't been tested by our product group. 

More details:   9343_Chipset_Driver_88RDD_WN32_10.1.1.7_A00.EXE

Supported Operating Systems
Windows 10, 64-bit

Let me know where you are trying to download that file from, but I would recommend sticking to the ones we have available on our support site as they have been tested and confirmed to work.

I see the same thing on my xps 13, every time the Dell Command Update program runs it tries to download & install that driver version.

I too have the same problem. Dell Command Update offers me updates for chipset and graphics drivers, but neither will install properly, they just show up again in Command Update after installation.

Dell Update (not Command) only shows the chipset drivers as does automatic detection on dell.com/support but the driver won't update from dell.com or Dell Update app either.

I have the  same problem  with my XPS13 i7- 5500u 8gb ram.   dell detects upgrade from intel management system but fails to install  Chipset_Driver_KFR45_WN32_11.0.0.1153_A00.EXE

Everytime it fails to install it. I downloaded the .exe and tried install that from folder but it fails too.

Dell, you fix this?

My comp is XPS 13 9343 with windows 10 64 bit and ubuntu 16.04. I hope to get support, I paid around 2000 euros when paid this device.

At the same time fix the problem with audio card that shows sometimes and sometimes not.

Same problem. XPS 9343. Log file attached. Too big for one post, so I split in two. This is the second half of the log file... would have been attached if the installer didn't delete it on exit. GRR...
