Latitude D830 and Epson 1825 projector

I have a Latitude D830 and an Epson EMP 1825 projector. When I project a PowerPoint presentation using a USB Type 2 connection, the presentation has a few second lag time that does not appear when I am viewing the presentation on the laptop. Annoying but usable. When I try to project an AVI type video, the lag time is so long the video is unusable but is very watchable on the laptop. Do you have any idea why I am having this time delay problem when I use the projector?

Are you using some sort of USB to VGA converter box?
