No Touchpad Gestures - Win10 Latitude E7470

Hello,

I've got a Latitude E7470 which I used previously with Win7, where the touchpad worked fine.

I clean-installed Win10, and now I can't get the touchpad to work properly - I can use it to point and click (and also click-drag, partially), but none of the gestures work (e.g. scrolling), and the touchpad software doesn't recognize the touchpad as one - see the attached screenshot. The point stick does work.

I tried various driver versions, including the latest (10.2207.101.108-A00), and some other versions which I've read are supposed to work (e.g., 10.1207.101.103-A00), however neither seem to make it work.

I'd appreciate any help with this.

Thanks in advance!

Thank you for posting this; I'm having the exact problem.  I have a Latitude E5550 and the touchpad and pointingstick work, I just don't have access to adjusting their setting or using gestures.  Dell Touchpad software is opening, but I only have options on the mouse; touchpad and pointingstick don't show.  A Google search resulted in troubleshooters that addressed getting Dell Touchpad to showup, but nothing on this issue.  I had to search by image just to find this.  Hopefully we get an answer soon.

Is there any new information about this? Any techs want to chime in? It's May and nothing...

Hi Dell,

I have the same issue with 2 laptops --> E7470 and E7270.

What I tried:

- Uninstall Dell Touchpad in Device Manager --> Reboot --> Install new driver from Dell website.

- Updated BIOS to the latest version

Is there anyone with a solution for this problem?

Any update? Still having issues with the gestures as above... Really annoying no one from Dell is responding to this thread.

Did you try this version:

http://downloads.dell.com/FOLDER04210938M/3/Dell-Touchpad-Driver_9HG8R_WIN_10.2207.101.108_A00_02.EXE

Note you may have to force install the driver via the device manager. See here for details:

I'm still trying to find a way to fix this in my deployments, but here's a fix a colleague has discovered:

  1. Open Device Manager
  2. Expand "Mice and other pointing devices"
  3. Right click on Dell Touchpad
  4. Click "Update Driver"
  5. click "Browse my computer for Driver Software"
  6. click "Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer"
  7. Choose "PS/2 Compatible Mouse"
  8. Hit "Next," reboot, and gesture to your heart's content

I even somehow got the ALPS control panel working, but that's more work for minimal payoff.

@SLpatthew Thanks for the post. I was able to get a working E5470 model that my organization redeploys working again with this fix.

We have tried all sorts of rollback drivers, updates, and etc but was not able to resolve that.
