SOS dell laptop indicator
please help with my laptop.
Dell lattitude 5501 laptop, white light blinks 8 times and yellow light 2 times.
Caps lock always on. what could be the problem?

Does it show the Dell logo or just doesn't turn on?
https://www.dell.com/support/manuals/al/en/aldhs1/latitude-15-5501-laptop/latitiude_5501_sm/system-diagnostic-lights?guid=guid-f7e24b39-9988-47a8-8c7b-4f85ba0cf5dd&lang=en-us (These are the LED error codes , I am pretty sure you can find them in your service manual, these codes will help in finding the issue)

Edit: It is a display failure , but in the LED codes it never shows 8 blinks of the white LED, so it is probably 7 blinks

The problem is a GPU failure, which sadly requires a motherboard replacement . Was the laptop used for heavy workloads like rendering,video editing, gaming etc? I'm pretty sure you got a faulty GPU, so contact Dell Support.
