Foolproof way to fix Bluetooth, plus right way to get 3.19
XPS 13 DE 2015 QHD+
I've installed the various fixes, have upgraded to the 3.19 Kernel from Dell's repo.
Two questions:
1. Is there a foolproof way to get Bluetooth working, which is broken with the 3.19 kernel
2. What it the "right" place to get 3.19? I installed it from (I think) a testing PPA as per some of the earlier threads, is this still OK or should I be pulling from the mainstream source?

At first, using the BT icon menu, I paired my Android phone. They both detected each other. The menu allowed a function "browse files". Upon clicking it the phone asked to allow the operation. I did, and a laptop program gvfs-smthing crashed with a long report. Since then, both devices seem to be paired but do not connect or otherwise show that they detect the partner. I messed around with the hcitools and the GUI driving the BT into some pathological state when the "indicator-bluetooth" would take 100% CPU of a core.
The next time, at work, I tried to scan the BT, it quickly found a number of devices around and my headset which was in "pairing mode". I tried to set the PIN, indicated by the manufacturer, but it did not work. It finally worked when left to the auto PIN detection. Then, I tuned the audio settings. Since then, whenever I turn the headset on it is connected automatically right awa
The 7265 card works reliably where I need it, not dropping connection as the BC card did. I suppose these drops happened because of frequent changing of the access points. The Intel card also changes the points but does not drop connection.
BTW, I had initially a problem with 7265. It would try but fail to connect after coming from sleep. Restarting the network manager helped. I found a workaround in http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2218043

OK. So, after testing with a loaner 7265 from my work, I ordered a 7260NGW and just installed it in my XPS. I had some issues getting bluetooth audio to work, but I also had this issue with the 7265. The device paired up just fine, though. I ended up installing Blueman Bluetooth Manager and now audio is working. I don't remember the exact reason I went with the 7260 (ordered it almost a month ago), but I believe it was from reading reviews about other issues with the 7265 card.
Spot checking runtime at 50% brightness, keyboard light off, music playing over bluetooth, and firefox open, I have an estimated 2:58 remaining at 37% charge. This is on the 1080 non-touch screen.
Here's the card I bought:

So, this Intel card with Blueman Bluetooth Manager seems to be the trick.

I've installed kernel 3.19 and switch to the Intel 7265NGW but I cannot connect to any device.
dmesg shows me:
[ 3.650645] Bluetooth: Core ver 2.20

[ 4.537660] Bluetooth: hci0: Intel Bluetooth firmware file: intel/ibt-hw-37.8.bseq
[ 4.541730] Bluetooth: hci0: Intel Bluetooth firmware patch completed
So, it looks like the firmware is not properly loaded. How am I supposed to correct that?

I also have 7265NGW ("Authentic" from Amazon), using kernel 3.19.0-22, linux-firmware 1.127.14
The firmware is loaded OK:
Bluetooth: hci0: Intel Bluetooth firmware file: intel/ibt-hw-37.8.10-fw-1.10.3.11.e.bseq

In /lib/firmware/intel, I have the firmware file: intel/ibt-hw-37.8.10-fw-1.10.3.11.e.bseq that is loading correctly for you. However, on my system, the kernel tries to load intel/ibt-hw-37.8.10-fw-1.10.1.14.d.bseq which does not exists and is nowhere to be found. If I just create a symlink, the firmware fails to load with error -16.
uname -a
Linux flm-XPS-13-9343 3.19.0-34-generic #39~14.04.1-Ubuntu SMP Wed Nov 11 14:33:42 UTC 2015 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
How am I supposed to solve that?
