Problems with X Window/Gnome on a Dell 1905FP Monitor

Hey there,

Everytime I try to boot into X Window/Gnome, I always get a black screen and an error message:

1: Analog Input
Cannot Display This Video Mode

I've tried many different kinds of distro's. Everything from FreeBSD (FreeSBIE 2.0 - which is the live cd) to Fedora 10 (live cd) and Ubuntu 8.04. And each time I try to run X Window/Gnome I get the same error. The only time I was able to run Linux on my Dell was when I installed Fedora Core 3. Later on I installed Windows XP again, and that has been my OS since.

I have an old Dell Dimension 8400 with a Dell 1905FP UltraSharp Flat Panel Monitor. I also have a nVidia Ge Force 6800 256MB video card.

Any suggestions folks? I kinda want to install Ubuntu on my computer asap! ;)

or here

http://albertomilone.com/nvidia_scripts1.html
