2408WFP, no sound when I turn it off

I have an AX510 connected to a Dell 2408WFP. Both are ca. 10+ years old and both work fine. They were given to me by a good friend who could afford to upgrade. He assures me that there is a way to turn off the monitor’s display without turning off the music I normally stream. I can't see how to do it. Can someone please offer a solution? Thanks.

Here is the 2408WFP User's Guide. If you press the 2408WFP power button, the 2408WFP is off, so no power is sent to the attached AX510, which means no sound. The 2408WFP has to remain powered on for sound to work. So set the operating system power management to only allow a screen saver to turn on after 5 minutes. In this state, the 2408WFP is still powered on.

Thanks.  I've tried your suggestion and it works like a top.  Best wishes.
