3008WFP, MacBook Pro, DP audio support
I have a Dell 3008WFP I purchased December 2009. Does the Displayport input support audio? I have a new 2010 MacBook Pro i7 that supports audio on the mini-displayport output.

It works on Windows OS when you choose the 3008WFP as the Sound- Output device. We never validated the 3008WFP on macOS so cannot know how to do this there.

OK. The video has always worked just fine. I just upgraded to the newer MacBook Pro that supports audio out over the miniDisplayPort, but the audio isn't working. I'm using the Dell cable with a miniDisplayport->Displayport adapter.

OK, does the 3008WFP actually support audio in on the Displayport connector?
Someone else with the same MacBook Pro (mid-2010 model) and the exact same mini-displayport->displayport cable says the audio out works with his U2410. On my 3008WFP I get audio on the HDMI cables that are connected, but not Displayport.

Then I'm not sure why it works with a U2410 but not a 3008WFP.
