A newer model is worse than an older model?
I am looking for a monitor and I have these two options in mind:
1. Dell P2217H (the older model)
2. Dell P2219H ( a newer model)
This is a comparison between the two
In the specifications, the P2217H has a lower response time than the P2219H (6ms vs 8ms). Also the P2217H has a full 8-bit color gamut while the P2219H has 6-bit +FRC.
How is this possible?

This means they are able to produce cheaper and cheaper panels while keeping basic specs like IPS / full-HD etc the same. IPS means nothing in the new crop of monitors. I have the P2219HC and it looks bad with banding issues (due to 6 bit color) and washed out colors compared to my 10 year old Samsung SyncMaster 2333.
