Monitor display at 640 X 480 resution.

My Dell Dimension XPS b733r crashed on Tuesday. I had to format my hard drive and reinstall Windows 98.

Now I am having problems with the monitor. I only have 2 settings 2 colors and 16 colors and the resolution bar will not move so I only have a 640x480 display.

The device manager Display adapter lists it as Standard PCI graphics adapter VGA. The device manager simply lists the monitor as Plug and Play monitor.

The monitor that came with this machine is a 19" Dell Triniton.

Can you please tell me if it is possible to get  more color options and higher screen resolution?  I have the Dell resource CD which came with the system but can't figure out the driver for the adapter as the folders are numbered.  Can someone please help me?

Thanks in Advance for any help you can offer.

Raminder.

Alessan,

Thank you for using the Dell Community Forum.

Reinstall the video card drivers back into the system. If you need assistance with loading the drivers post this question to Dell - Chris in the video conference forum.
